HAIRSPRAY

Hairspray is on Tour of the UK & Ireland! Michael Ball, who originated the role of larger than life heroine Edna Turnblad in the London production, will open the tour at Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff on Tuesday 30 March 2010.

This wildly successful Broadway incarnation of John Waters' 1988 movie by the same name was the winner of eight 2003 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

The New York Times said of the show, "If life were everything it should be, it would be more like HAIRSPRAY. It's irresistible!"

Hairspray is written by Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, and the book is by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan.
